Does Aegis hold my funds?
No. Aegis is non-custodial and never holds your funds. On centralized exchanges your assets stay in your own exchange account, and Aegis only ever trades — a CEX API key is rejected unless withdrawals are disabled (trade-only). On DEXs you sign every transaction yourself; Aegis never signs or holds funds. See the non-custodial model.
What happens if Aegis goes offline?
Your keys and funds are always yours. Your assets never leave your own exchange account or your own wallet, so if Aegis is unavailable you retain full control of them. Automation simply pauses; nothing about custody depends on Aegis being online.
Can Aegis withdraw from my exchange?
No. Aegis rejects any exchange API key that has withdrawal permission enabled — only trade-only keys are accepted. Your API secret is envelope-encrypted with a KMS (AWS KMS), and the API never returns your secret. See API key encryption.
Which exchanges are supported today?
Binance is live as a centralized exchange (spot market data over WebSocket and REST). Bybit and OKX are coming soon. DEX aggregation via LiFi / 0x is in development, targeting Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base, Optimism, Polygon, BSC, and Solana.
Is there a subscription?
No. There is no subscription and no monthly fee — you pay per operation. The only Aegis fee is 0.50% on the fiat on-ramp, and trading carries no Aegis markup. See Fees.
Do I need to KYC?
Aegis itself is wallet-first: you sign in with your wallet using SIWE, with no email, password, or sign-up. Any identity verification is handled by the third parties you use — for example, your exchange or the fiat on-ramp provider — under their own requirements.
How do I stay safe?
- Aegis never DMs you first and never asks for your seed phrase or private keys.
- Never share your seed phrase, private key, or recovery details with anyone.
- Use trade-only API keys, and rely on step-up signatures for sensitive actions.
