Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Aegis, a non-custodial, wallet-first automation platform for crypto trading. By connecting a wallet and using the platform, you agree to the terms below.

This document is a template provided for general informational purposes only. It is not legal advice and does not create any attorney-client relationship. You should have qualified legal counsel review and adapt these terms to your specific circumstances and jurisdiction before relying on them.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Aegis, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and any policies referenced herein. If you do not agree, you must not use the platform. Aegis uses wallet-first authentication: you sign in with a cryptographic wallet signature (Sign-In With Ethereum, EIP-4361) rather than an email and password, and there is no traditional sign-up process. If you use the platform on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to accept these terms on its behalf.

2. Non-Custodial Service

Aegis is non-custodial. Aegis never takes possession of, holds, or controls your funds. You retain custody at all times through your own self-hosted wallet and through accounts you hold directly with third-party trading venues.

  • For centralized exchanges, you connect your own API keys. A key that permits withdrawals is rejected; only trade-only keys (withdrawals disabled) are accepted, and the platform never returns your secret to you or any third party.
  • For decentralized exchanges, you sign every transaction from your own wallet. Aegis never signs transactions and never holds or moves your assets.

Because Aegis is non-custodial, you are solely responsible for the security, availability, and control of your wallets, keys, and venue accounts.

3. No Financial Advice

Aegis is a software tool, not a broker-dealer, investment adviser, financial planner, or fiduciary. Nothing on the platform, including strategies, indicators, backtests, market data, news classification, signals, or any other output, constitutes financial, investment, tax, or legal advice, or a recommendation, solicitation, or offer to buy or sell any asset. Any decision to trade is yours alone. You are responsible for evaluating the merits and risks of using the platform and for your own trading decisions.

4. Risk Disclosure

Trading crypto assets involves substantial risk and is not suitable for every person. Prices are volatile, and you may lose some or all of the value of your assets. Automated strategies do not guarantee profits and can lose money, including in ways that differ from your expectations or from historical backtests. Past performance and simulated results are not indicative of future results.

  • Automation on Aegis starts disabled. You must explicitly opt in before any automated strategy can act on your behalf.
  • We strongly recommend progressing through the trading modes in order: PAPER (a simulated account) first, then TESTNET, and only then REAL. You accept full responsibility for any live trading you enable.
  • Risk controls such as per-symbol and portfolio limits and the kill switch are tools to help you manage exposure, but they do not eliminate risk and may not prevent losses.

5. Your Accounts & API Keys

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of your wallets, recovery methods, passkeys, and any API keys or credentials you connect to Aegis, and for all activity conducted through them. You agree to connect only trade-only API keys with withdrawals disabled, to keep your keys and venue accounts in good standing, and to comply with the terms of each connected venue. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access to your account or connected credentials. Aegis is not responsible for losses arising from your failure to safeguard your keys, wallets, or venue accounts.

6. Third-Party Venues and Services

Aegis interoperates with third-party services that you choose to connect, including exchanges and market-data providers (for example, Binance), fiat on-ramp providers (for example, Transak), decentralized exchange infrastructure, wallet providers, and messaging services. These third parties are independent, are not controlled by Aegis, and are governed by their own terms, fees, and policies. Aegis does not endorse and is not responsible for the availability, performance, security, or actions of any third-party service, and your use of them is at your own risk and subject to their agreements with you.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Aegis to:

  • violate any applicable law, regulation, sanctions program, or the terms of any connected venue;
  • engage in market manipulation, fraud, money laundering, or other unlawful or abusive trading activity;
  • access the platform if you are barred from doing so under the laws of your jurisdiction, or use it from a prohibited or sanctioned location;
  • attempt to gain unauthorized access to, disrupt, reverse engineer, or interfere with the platform, its infrastructure, or other users;
  • circumvent security, risk, or rate-limiting controls, or misuse connected API keys or credentials.

8. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

The platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted or error-free operation. Aegis does not warrant that signals, data, backtests, or automated actions will be accurate, timely, or profitable.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Aegis and its affiliates, officers, and contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, funds, assets, data, or trading opportunities, arising out of or relating to your use of the platform, whether based in contract, tort, or any other legal theory, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. You use the platform at your own risk and are solely responsible for your trading decisions and their outcomes.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes may be communicated through the platform. Your continued use of Aegis after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. If you do not agree to the updated terms, you must stop using the platform.
